BACKGROUND
Tullio is a luxury coastal Italian restaurant founded by Lucio Zanon, son of Tullio Zanon, the legendary “jeweler of seafood” at Venice’s historic Rialto Fish Market. With more than four decades of hospitality experience, Lucio set out to bring the refinement, romance, and culinary artistry of Venice to Miami’s upscale dining landscape.
Located in Coral Gables, Tullio was conceived as more than a restaurant—it was intended to be a cultural experience that blended Venetian heritage with Miami’s modern elegance. While the culinary pedigree was exceptional, success in Miami’s competitive dining market would depend on strategic branding, visibility, and digital engagement. Grozina was engaged to build Tullio’s brand identity, craft its narrative, and develop a strategic marketing and communications plan capable of launching the restaurant as a must-visit luxury destination.
CHALLENGE
Miami’s luxury dining market is highly saturated, with restaurants competing not only on cuisine, but on atmosphere, storytelling, and cultural relevance. As a new entrant, Tullio needed to establish immediate credibility while differentiating itself from established fine-dining destinations.
To do this, the restaurant needed to communicate authentic Venetian heritage without appearing overly traditional or inaccessible, while appealing to both local diners and visitors seeking elevated dining experiences.

RESULTS AND IMPACT
Tullio established strong early momentum within Miami’s competitive luxury dining market, supported by sustained reservation activity, strong guest retention, and growing recognition as a sought-after dining destination in Coral Gables. Early performance indicators reflected strong market alignment, with a notably high repeat customer rate signaling loyalty beyond initial launch curiosity.
Reservation patterns demonstrated meaningful demand, with guests booking well in advance—an important indicator of perceived value and destination appeal within luxury hospitality. Revenue performance per seat also exceeded expectations for comparable dining environments, reinforcing alignment between Tullio’s premium positioning, guest experience, and customer willingness to spend.
Editorial visibility, cohesive branding, and a disciplined digital presence increased awareness among both local diners and destination audiences, helping Tullio establish credibility within Miami’s highly competitive dining landscape while maintaining a differentiated identity rooted in authentic Venetian heritage. Consistent storytelling elevated the restaurant beyond a traditional launch, positioning it around culture, experience, and refined hospitality.
As brand recognition grew, Tullio earned significant third-party validation through prestigious accolades, including Miami New Times Best Italian Restaurant 2025, Coral Gables Best Fine Dining 2024, Coral Gables Magazine Best Italian 2024, and Coral Gables Magazine Best Romantic Restaurant 2025. The restaurant also received international recognition through Gambero Rosso Top Italian Restaurants 2024/2025, acknowledgment by the Accademia della Cucina Italiana 2025, and inclusion in the International Wine & Food Society (IWFS) 2025. Further reinforcing its cultural credibility, Tullio was recognized by the Italian Consul and featured in an official publication celebrating Italian excellence.
Most importantly, the engagement positioned Tullio not simply as another restaurant opening, but as an emerging luxury hospitality brand with strong perceived value, repeat customer loyalty, and growing cultural relevance within South Florida’s upscale dining market.
