BACKGROUND
AccuPlace is a manufacturer of precision automation and adhesive component placement equipment serving the semiconductor, electronics and life sciences industries. The company develops highly specialized machinery used for precision adhesive placement, automated robotic assembly, label and film application, laboratory slide printing, and custom automation systems supporting advanced manufacturing environments where speed, consistency, and micron-level accuracy are critical. Applications range from adhesive labeling and component placement for products such as oven doors and electronics to advanced adhesive and material applications supporting manufacturers such as 3M.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, AccuPlace recognized an opportunity to expand the relevance of its automation capabilities within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors as global manufacturers accelerated vaccine development, testing, and production. While the company already possessed technology applicable to diagnostic and life sciences manufacturing — including precision systems capable of supporting test kit production and highly controlled assembly processes — its marketing and outreach efforts had not yet been positioned to effectively communicate those capabilities to biotechnology decision-makers operating under heightened urgency.
AccuPlace engaged Grozina to develop the communications, digital marketing, and targeted outreach strategy necessary to strengthen visibility among leading biotechnology and pharmaceutical organizations — including companies involved in COVID-19 vaccine development — while translating highly technical machinery into clearer, application-based messaging aligned with urgent real-world manufacturing needs.
CHALLENGE
The competitive environment intensified significantly during the COVID-19 pandemic as vaccine manufacturers and biotechnology firms operated under compressed production timelines while being inundated with vendors competing for attention. Reaching organizations such as Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Moderna required communications that could clearly connect highly technical machinery to specific manufacturing outcomes. At the same time, audience dynamics within STEM and life sciences industries were evolving. As biotechnology, diagnostics, and pharmaceutical organizations increasingly included more women across scientific research, laboratory operations, procurement, and leadership roles, communications needed to account for broader and more multidisciplinary decision-making audiences. Messaging was refined to move beyond purely technical specifications toward language focused on real-world outcomes, allowing sophisticated engineering capabilities to be more effectively understood across teams responsible for evaluating equipment purchases. The objective was not to simplify the engineering, but to allow sophisticated technical capabilities to better adapt to the realities of the buyer environment.
STRATEGIC APPROACH
EXECUTION HIGHLIGHTS
RESULTS AND IMPACT
AccuPlace strengthened visibility within life sciences and biotechnology sectors during a period of unprecedented global demand. Website engagement increased by 38%, improving reach among more qualified and industry-relevant audiences.
Targeted outreach generated engagement from multiple global pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations, including leading COVID-19 vaccine manufacturers. One vaccine manufacturer out of the main three targets (Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and Moderna) moved forward with equipment acquisition to support the production of test kits used in COVID-19 vaccine development, while broader outreach generated additional interest and demand from other pharmaceutical and life sciences companies exploring automation solutions.
Most importantly, AccuPlace established a stronger market position within biotechnology and pharmaceutical manufacturing by translating highly technical automation expertise into clearer, application-based communications aligned with urgent real-world industry needs.
