Brand Awareness Through PR: EKFT & The Pelican Newspaper
Pompano Beach, Florida has long been known to be the Sport Fishing Capital of the World and the Pelican is it’s local newspaper, with a dedicated section on all-things-fishing that gets distributed to all the ‘locals.’
The Extreme Kayak Fishing Tournament has long been held on the shores of Pompano Beach, but no one outside of the participant’s knew about it. Grozina spearheaded a public relations strategy to change that, with a feature on the sport and the right newspaper and audience for it. Since then, the EKFT has been written about in many more papers and visitor’s and local’s alike can enjoy more of what Pompano Beach offers.
